It all started innocently enough. A weekly gathering of several girlfriends getting together to use a common book as an excuse to drink some wine, talk and not be bound by the titles life had given us of wife, mom, professional or whatever for just a few hours. Over the course of several meetings the wine turned to margaritas or martinis and the books gave way to talking and venting.
On one such night we were sitting around my living room gabbing about some sex scandal that was pasted all over the news. What ensued was a two hour discussion about how there were no stories, pertaining to sex, that really spoke to any of us. They either didn’t have the buildup we wanted, or focused too heavily on feelings, and not enough on the sex.
Some authors focused on the young Harlot destined for an otherworldly romance with a stunning supernatural being, while others were written so poorly, laughing was the only action it brought about in the darkened bedroom. We came to the agreement that what we really wanted was a story, or even set of stories, that detailed the situation of sexuality while keeping an element of crude bedroom action.
We swapped funny stories about hiding our trashy sex novels in drawers and folded towels for a bit of bath time reading. This, and God knows how much alcohol, led us to the audacious idea that we, several women with little to no writing experience, all looking for piece of good naughty literature, should combine our efforts and create the Friday Night Stories. After coming up with a great Pen Name, we came to an agreement that I would spearhead the adventure, and with little hesitation we dove in head first.
Our first attempt is Tara’s Descent. At 47,065 words Tara's Descent is an erotic story focusing on a young woman, Tara, who both owns her sexuality and isn't afraid to explore it. She is empowered by her ability to manipulate through sexuality and enjoys the letting go and taboo experience of being dominated. Tara’s Descent is a simple, fun read that delves into the carnal thoughts, feelings and desires of sex. We decided to focus on an animalistic, almost crude aspect to erotic literature that rarely caters to a woman’s perspective. This is a combination of several fantasies that we constructed Tara to live out for us.
